The Ontario Beach Park Program Committee is an all volunteer group that provides free family entertainment at Ontario Beach Park, Rochester, New York.  They have been in existence since 1984.  The committee sponsors The Spring and Fall Big Band Dance Series, Wegmans Concerts by the Shore, Annual Lakeside Winter Festival, Kite Flight and Romancing the River.    You can also get information at the information line at 585-865-3320

LAKESIDE  WINTER  CELEBRATION

Celebrate the Winter at the 32nd annual Lakeside Winter Celebration

at Ontario Beach Park, Saturday Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14 2016

Celebrate the Winter at the 32nd annual Lakeside Winter Celebration at Ontario Beach Park. This year, the celebration will feature a wide array of activities including the 6th Annual Lake Ontario Wine and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, February 13 and then continue on Sunday, February 14 with the “Polar Plunge” at noon. Additionally, Charlotte area merchants will be offering specials and discounts all weekend. All events will be held at the Port of Rochester Terminal and Ontario Beach Park.

This event is organized by the all-volunteer Ontario Beach Park Program Committee and sponsored by the City of Rochester, Monroe County, Port of Charlotte Merchants Association, Freetime Magazine and Wegmans.

Saturday, Feb. 13, 1 - 6 p.m. 

  • Lake Ontario Wine and Craft Beer Festival
  • Chilly Chili Challenge
  • Ultimate Frisbee Challenge
  • Horse-drawn carriage rides
  • Dog sled demo
  • Outdoor children’s games with Rec on the Move
  • Ice sculpture demo
  • Snow sculpture contest
  • Winter hike: Port Terminal Building, 1 p.m.
  • Fireworks, 6 p.m.

Ontario Beach Park Program Committee seeks Contestants for the Chilly Chili Challenge

Restaurants and not-for-profits, mark your calendars now for the 24th Annual Chilly Chili Challenge to be held as part of the Lakeside Winterfest on Saturday, February 13th, 2016, 1 p.m.- 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity for local restaurants to showcase your skills and gain exposure to the lover 5000 attendees at the event.  Also can be a fun teambuilding activity for your not –for- profit or church group. All chili must be prepared in an approved kitchen and contestants are responsible for getting a temporary food service permit from the Monroe County Health Department.  Besides the extreme honor and prestige related to wining the contest, there are also cash prizes for the winners in both the professional and amateur divisions.

 Lakeside Winter Celebration 2015 was huge success!

The event was sponsored by the Ontario Beach Park Program CDommittee, along with Wegmans, County of Monroe and City of Rochester.  Everyhone enjoyed the wagon rides, bounce slides, snow scuppture, chili challenge, wine tasting and fireworks.  Many thanks to all the volunteers who made this such an enjoyable event.

The winners of the Snow Sculpture Contest were:

1st Place - Mike Unterborn for Jaws

 2nd Place - Sylvia Widish and Alicia Perez for Paddington Bear.
